Beavers Bend State Parkand the surrounding area are filled with activities such as fly fishing, camping, boating, and hiking. On the lower Mountain Fork river, you can pull in a brown or rainbow trout. The many hiking and biking trails will lead you into a virtually undiscovered land. If you don't have your own canoe or kayak, you can rent one through an area recreational rental company. Boats, houseboats, and jet skis are also available for rent. Horseback riding and train rides are offered through Beavers Bend Depot and Stables, a great family destination.

A brand new National Forest Visitor Center is located on 259A south. Also, the Forest Heritage Center and Museum is located in the State Park, educating and enlightening you on the history of forestry. If you choose to take a scenic drive, simply head north on HWY 259. This is where you will find the Talimena Scenic Drive.
